The principal objective is removal of overpainting from a Pedro Antonio Fresquís altar screen that was created around 1820. Several bultos will also be conserved. One is pictured below prior to conservation. The conservation work is being done by master santeros Victor Goler and Felix Lopez and by San Pedro mayordomo David Salazar.
The results are suggested in the close-up photos below of the crowned Virgin; the left side of the face is untouched and the partially conserved right side reveals original color and detail. Other photos in sequence likewise show detail before and after restoration.
